Start near Mirabell, cross to the Old Town, then climb once and only once.

A simple loop:
1) Mirabell Gardens
2) Getreidegasse and the market lanes
3) Cathedral square
4) One viewpoint (Mönchsberg is kind and gives a broad look)

Don’t zigzag. Pick a side, finish it, then cross. End with a café where you can actually hear your company.
It’s not a race; Salzburg rewards unhurried steps.
